Thank you to all who generously gave to the Teddy B Memorial Fund this year. The funds have been used both here in Austin and in El Salvador in ways that would surely make my dad proud and will carry on his legacy.

In Austin, funds were used to help us sponsor and coach a local youth soccer team in St. John. We subsidized registration fees and equipment costs, which was quite helpful to the kids and their families. See pictures here: St.John Chivas gallery

In El Salvador, funds were used to purchase sewing machines and computers for Fundacion Suenos (Dreams Foundation), our partners in the village of El Sunza. In December 2005, Ted visited El Sunza and spent time with The Rosales family, founders of Fundacion Suenos. He returned eager to be involved in working toward a better future for the people there. The sewing machines we have purchased for the foundation are now being used to train teenage girls to sew, both empowering them to make clothes and handmade goods for family and friends as well as opening up job possibilities after high school. The computers are being used to teach village youth basic functions such as word processing, power point, and evenutally, when internet access is secured, all about the World Wide Web.

We also used funds to help with some of the trip costs this summer. To read more about the trip, check out our blog. You can also watch a video here that gives a lot of background regarding our partnership with Fundacion Suenos.

If you are interested in supporting similar projects in the future, please contact us. We'd love for you to be involved.

Thank you and God bless.
